What is the WEAVE Collective?
Grown from a seed planted in 2021, The WEAVE Collective was forged out of a shared commitment to bring into focus the role of feminist movements in addressing violence against women and girls (VAWG). The collective is made up of a group of researchers and activists from Australia, India, South Africa, and Nicaragua.
The WEAVE Collective members led research in their own country contexts, and came together to learn from each other and co-create knowledge through research papers, new theories, documentaries, and artwork.

Given the political context in Nicaragua, openly associating with research on struggles against violence carries significant risks. To safeguard themselves and their loved ones, some contributors have chosen to use pseudonyms, allowing them to continue their resistance while prioritizing safety.
